An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Medical Education Supervisor to join our busy and dynamic administration team within the Training and Education Department (TED) of this forward thinking Teaching Hospital. This innovative new post requires an experienced, capable and enthusiastic senior administrator, able to contribute to all aspects of medical education administration in particular of our postgraduate medical and GP training schemes.
The successful candidate will be suitably experienced in a medical education environment with excellent organisational skills. A firm understanding of health education, particularly in relation to medical education and GP training schemes would be advantageous.
You will provide a comprehensive staff management service for a team of administration staff dealing with all aspects of training and education. This will include workload planning, holiday and sickness management, personal development planning and staff induction. You will be able to organise your own work whilst managing and monitoring the duties of the TED administration team to the required standards. You will have a professional, flexible and resourceful approach to work.
You must have the ability to work without direct supervision, maintaining a customer focus in all aspects of work, whilst managing conflicting priorities and working flexibly as appropriate to workload. You must have experience of dealing with sensitive/confidential information; be able to produce accurately detailed information routinely and for project work and excellent organisational skills e.g. time management, meeting deadlines, producing work plans in line with priorities.
You must also have experience of using Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, Outlook and Word. Additionally you must be able to demonstrate excellent, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; be an effective team worker; be confident in dealing with and enjoy working with people, face to face, on the telephone and in writing.
The post holder will work closely with the Business Manager and other senior managers within the department to set up and adhere to operating procedures, policies and agree local procedures relevant to the department
This will be an exciting and varied position, involving extensive coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders with great opportunities to increase knowledge and develop new skills.
Travel to various Trust sites and external venues will be required as part of the role.
