There’s never been a more exciting time to join Doncaster Council.
We are passionate about Doncaster  –  it’s a great place to live, do business and visit.
We have plenty to shout about – Doncaster is the UK’s best connected location, we have many major developments in the pipeline, a vibrant urban centre with a thriving arts and cultural scene, sport and leisure attractions, wonderful green spaces and a fascinating heritage.  We firmly believe, as do our partners, that Doncaster is the place to be with a bright future and ambitions ahead of it.  But don’t just take our word for it – anyone joining the council, can look forward to expanding their knowledge and skills in a dynamic, creative and nurturing environment while truly making a difference to the communities we serve.
We are currently recruiting to the post of Culture Development Coordinator within Heritage Doncaster.  It’s an exciting time for Doncaster’s heritage services as we prepare to open a brand new museum and library in August 2020.  Currently, Heritage Doncaster manages Cusworth Hall & Park, Doncaster Museum & Art Gallery, Doncaster Archives & Local Studies, the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Museum, and a museum education service.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can join our busy team coordinating income generating activities across all Heritage Doncaster sites. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills are a must for this fast-paced role which involves working with a wide range of people every day.
The successful candidate will coordinate the successful delivery of Heritage Doncaster events ranging from family fun days to weddings and other private functions.   We are looking to recruit someone who can demonstrate experience of working in an events environment, ideally within a cultural or heritage organisation, with a good knowledge of best practice in event planning.
The chosen candidate will work with Heritage Doncaster staff to plan, promote, coordinate and evaluate our extensive events programme and private hire bookings so excellent organisation and task management skills are essential.
This position is mainly based at Cusworth Hall but the successful candidate will coordinate events across all Heritage Doncaster sites.  The ability to work occasional evenings and weekends is essential.
For further information about the role please contact Amanda Matheson, Assistant Manager: Engagement & Business Development at amanda.matheson@doncaster.gov.uk or 01302 734293.
