The purpose of the role is to manage the bid management process and activities inclusive of contract renewals ensuring the development of high quality and competitive proposals to meet the company targets for growth and profitability.
Dimension of Job
Focused on UK & International markets across all Customers
Acting as an escalation point for all issues going through the bid management process
The position may require travel, sometimes at short notice, as and when required
Line Management responsibility
Responsibilities
To proactively manage the bid management process, including ensuring all bids are delivered on time
Responsible for the governance of the process
Writing of bids/proposals/PQQs etc, leading the team in writing bids for all opportunities
Maintenance and Development of the e-library
Training of the bid process to all users, ensuring adherence of the process by all users
To support the bids management governance, implementing reporting for bids management to track and monitor bids progress, including a live dashboard
To review all tender documents with the relevant opportunity owner, to specify resource requirements, specific tender strategies, tender time plans and relevant action logs, utilising cross functional team members where required
Assist and support the bid presentations if required
Working with the project management team, to support all bid implementations
To have a constant focus on process improvement across bid management to ensure speedy customer response and continuous improvement
Management of After Action Reviews on outcome of bid win/loss
Ownership of the CRM system, including production of reporting, and policing of the system
To support international bids working with the international team, global account directors and export team
Attainment and maintenance of targeted Unipart Way competencies
Any other duties/responsibilities as identified and commensurate with the role
Qualifications / Experience

Essential

Desirable

3-5 years experience with bids/proposal, having experience in managing complex bids
Knowledge of the rail industry
Excellent bid writing skills
Formal professional qualification
