Doncaster Council Apprenticeships
The established and successful Apprenticeships and Learning Team in Doncaster Council increases training opportunities for employed staff and new entrants to the Council workforce.
Since 2012 the team has enrolled over 500 apprentices including young people entering the world of work for the first time and employees within the Council, wanting to update their skills and qualifications.
The team is subject to an OFSTED Inspection and last received one in May 2017, which resulted in the provision being awarded a Grade 2 - ‘Good Provision’.
The Apprenticeship Programme qualifications provide the skills needed to help people into jobs and lifelong employability enabling enthusiastic people to make a contribution to the organisation.
If you are starting your career with an Apprenticeship at Doncaster Council, our qualified Learning Officers and trainers will support you in finding the right role for you and mentor you throughout your journey.
The team will be on hand to offer you support and guidance throughout, will complete on-site assessments and deliver a range of training to enable you to successfully achieve your qualification.

The Apprenticeship and Learning Team currently support people through a number of qualifications listed below:
Customer Service Level 2, 3 and 4
Business and Administration Level 2, 3 and 4
Certificate in Children and Young People's Workforce Level 2
Diploma in Health and Social Care Adults Level 2 and 3
Management Level 3, 5 and 7
Functional Skills Maths Levels 1 and 2
Functional Skills English Levels 1 and 2
Functional Skills ICT Levels 1 and 2
As an employer Doncaster Council also offers diverse apprenticeship opportunities that we outsource providers to deliver, including Craft Apprenticeships: e.g. Bricklayers, Electricians, Gas fitters, Joiners, Motor mechanics, Plasterers, Plumbers, Painters and Decorators, Highways Workers, Horticulturists and Heating and Ventilation.
We have also provided opportunities recently for Chartered manager degree, Civil engineers, AAT apprenticeships.

The Apprenticeship Team is effective in its safeguarding. They have fully trained staff, a nominated safeguarding champion and robust processes to monitor all apprentices for issues that may arise, that are then referred to a response team as appropriate.
All apprentices have access to Doncaster Council’s Occupational Health department’s services.
